I love the obscure. Small colleges you have never heard of, 1940’s Texas cowboys and tiny towns that time forgot. Even the music I load on my IPod is off the beaten path. I love the obscure; the niche. And nothing is more obscure today than the way of Jesus.
The followers of Jesus were not called Christians, church goer or righteous believers. They were called followers of The Way. The Way of Jesus was not a list of laws or a movement for political power. To belong to The Way was put Jesus in charge of your life- your relationships, your money and your thoughts.
What Way are you going? Your own way? The American way? The wrong way? Why not try the Jesus Way. The Jesus Way is radical love, unconditional acceptance, forgiveness to those who have wronged up and courage to speak truth when no one listens. The Jesus Way begins by saying “my way has ended.”
In the vanilla world of suburban life, why not take a shot at the obscure, the niche- the Jesus Way. Because our way never really gets us where we were created to be.
